The Batman room / Before and After

We have one Grandson, and 3 Granddaughters. With a 4th Granddaughter due in October. This lil man is outnumbered! But he Loves his cousins. He turned 4 the end of August!
The last 20 months he has shared a room with his mom. She was going to school in Seattle as well as working and the cost made it so they had to room with his Auntie. His simple request? He wanted a room...a room all to himself.

And he had high hopes..that it could be a Batman room!!! So his Momma and me studied this room (In this lil 1920's Bungalow)

The ceilings here are normal hieght, it isnt huge...but what a fun closet for toys...it needed help! and even tho he Liked having his own room...could we possibly on a budget make it his Batman room? (this is the before pic)

He sure wished we could! we started by painting his room a soft light grey. This did not impress him much! he loves Blue....

However, the final result's....had him so excited! (after pics)

We cannot take credit for this painted mural being 'our' idea, My daughter found it on a blog and asked me if I could do it! I Dont know the name of the blog. however they said they got this idea from the internet and looking at stencils.... I just put the pic on my laptop and started painting..with yardstick in hand...

It made the room light and airy...fun and all Batman! then we brain stormed about a headboard...and 'YES' this is our own idea....

We painted on a Batman headboard and then stenciled his name into place! and since he knows that was his name and since he loves loves batman....

He sure did love his Mommy and me for doing his 'Batman Birthday room' :)

Before...

And after...

Before....

And after...and he loved all the blue we brought back in...

I will be turning his lamp into a batman lamp and will show that DYI project as soon as the fabric arrives :)

Gotham city and a Bat bed....It was fun to do....

Before......

And after!!! wouldnt you agree, this room is light and airy and so much fun! the valances were sewn up only costing $6 and the black closet curtain..(BTW that is his bat cave!!!) is a black fabric shower curtain for only $10

We love this lil man, and all his lil facial exspression. he is ALL boy and these pics were takin for his 4th birthday by a friend of my daughters a up and comming photographer... since our lil man doesnt sit still much..she did an amazing job capturing him...and all this, was so worthwhile to see the look on his face...as he saw his batman room....

Even woody and pals...are very happy and content (can you imagine what goes on in this lil room at night??? *big smile*)
